So you’ve decided to take on the daunting task of learning how to attract older women.  While most men think that they are entering into a vortex of complication and unborn territory, attracting older women is not as hard as you cougar-hunters think.  You’ve taken on a challenge, and embrace it.  Before you drop your favorite line (“Do you believe in magic?”), read this first.

1. Sincere Compliment: Remember how in college all it took to pick up a girl was buying them a shot, and suddenly they would just fall on your dick?  Not so much with the cougar. Remember that she’s an older woman, and not a girl, and treat her accordingly.  Don’t jump head first into an insincere compliment, and NEVER use a pick-up line.  Seriously, all chicks enjoy a good compliment, but this one won’t unless it’s original and creative. You're going to need to use your brain to attract older women. 
   
2. Sincere Curiosity: You’ve broken the ice.  Now what?  Ask her about her job, and segue that into hobbies and similar interests. She’s not out at the bar because she’s a stay at home mom, so talk to her like an adult.  And you should talk like an adult.  Going on about your fantasy football team, or your comic book collection impresses no one, especially this silver vixen.  And don’t dominate the conversation.  Speaking to her about her accomplishments without over-flattery will prove to an older woman that you’re genuinely interested in the things that captivate her time.
3. Buy Her a Drink: She just finished her Sea Breeze, so offer to buy her next drink.  Please note how this is step three, and not step one. Displaying authentic interest in her hobbies and a real attention to her personality will attract older women into the conversation, and buying her a drink will grab her to you. If she accepts your offer, it means that she doesn’t have a problem talking to you until she’s finished her beverage.
4. Go Deep: You talked about mundane things like jobs and general interests, and have bought her a drink, thus giving the universal sign that you’re interested in her.  She’s probably let her guard down at this point, no longer weary of every douche that buys her next round.  Delve into topics less explored with her, show her that you’re comfortable talking about the things that she’s really interested in.  It doesn’t matter if it’s “Lost”, her ice-skating fetish, whatever.  Chip away at that hot-older-woman exterior and really get into the conversation.
5. DONT's: Step Five: If you have kids, don’t talk about them.  If you’re divorced, don’t talk about it.  Relationships and kids are a no go, as she might have both, but she’s not at the bar to remember those things.  Talk about the more personal things in your life without going into these dangerous waters.  It’ll get you the ultimate reward.
6. General Pre-Pickup Tips: Be confident – you’re not swimming the English Channel, so keep your head up.  Act like you’ve done this a thousand times.  Self-assurance is good, but in moderation.  You may have won your high-school fencing tournaments, but she doesn’t care.  Don’t dominate the conversation; let her talk about what she wants to talk about.  And please be sober.
